AAA Tipsy Tow Program offering a free Labor Day tow home for drinking drivers
The AAA Tipsy Tow Program predicts 34.4 million Americans will flying, driving or finding another way to get to friends and family. AAA announced on Tuesday by offering a free Labor Day tow home for drinking drivers in Northern California, Nevada and Utah from 6 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m.
AAA Carolinas said Wednesday it expects Labor Day travel in South Carolina to increase 7.7 percent this year, and approximately 452,000 state residents will travel during the long holiday weekend.
“What we’ve seen in the past is that North Carolinians go to South Carolina destinations, but the opposite doesn’t seem to be true,” said AAA Carolinas spokesman Brendan Byrnes. “For those reasons, we don’t expect Earl to have much of an impact on South Carolina. It is expected to make landfall Thursday, so it will have passed most travelers by. Folks should expect a beautiful weekend.”
“I’m going to go try to get to the casino, and play a little games, spend the day and have a great time,” Winston Williams said, one of the 740 thousand Arizonans expected to travel at least 50 miles from home this Labor Day weekend.
“Labor Day is a day that one always should remember,” Williams said.
According to the announcement, members and nonmembers alike may call 800-222-4357 (AAA-HELP) for a free tow of up to five miles, MercuryNews.Com.
